We are often asked for a ‘rough quote’ or ‘price guidance’ for interstate container moving.
It is difficult to give an accurate estimation of price because often, very similar projects will have quite different requirements and that will result in a significant difference in price.

We are able to offer cheap interstate moves because of the way in which we transport containers. Over long distances, transport by road (truck) is relatively expensive compared to transport by rail. We utilise the rail network to minimise moving costs and use trucks at either end of your move. Therefore, the closer that your address is to a depot in a main centre, the cheaper your move will be.
In your moving quote, we include as standard:
- Up to 40 days of container hire time to split between your loading address and your unloading address.
- In most locations we include furniture blankets, trolley, rope and boxes
- A 20ft High Cube Removalist Spec shipping container.
- Transit insurance covering the contents in case of a major incident for up to $150k.
- We include GST in all of our moving quotes.

Please note, the direction of travel is important when calculating moving quote. For instance, a move from Melbourne to Brisbane is not the same as a move from Brisbane to Melbourne. This is due to the cost of rail freight transport. Because there are freight imbalance on the rail network, the cost of rail is not calculated per KM, but rather is affected by the amount of freight moving on a particular route. For example, the Melbourne to Brisbane route is cheaper than the Brisbane to Melbourne route because the amount of freight travelling in either direction is different.
